A little about me……

My name is Jennifer Rupp. I got my start in the nonprofit world as an Executive Director (talk about baptism by fire, am I right?). No college degree in nonprofit management….never served on a board….never asked anyone for money….but here I am 14 years later….having led two nonprofits, completely overhauling funding models that directly increased the number of donors by 300% in one year, raising over $5 million (and counting), and making A LOT of mistakes along the way. Looking back, I wish in 2007 there would have been blogs, and podcasts, and resources that told it “real world style” for new EDs like myself…or at least a one stop shop where I could find those resources. I get asked all the time “how did you do it?”….so I thought I would start a blog and share what I learned (both from falling, and from getting back up). We are all friends in this crazy nonprofit world, and it’s lonely in the ED chair. I hope this provides some levity, insight, and entertainment for your journey. Saddle up your unicorn and let’s ride.
